Tique Travel: Going Greek

One week ago, I married my best friend on a cliff in Santorini, Greece in front of our closest family and friends. It was, without a doubt, the most magical day of my life.

I can't wait to share the details of our fairy tale week with you!

It all started 3 years ago. I went on one heck of an adventure to Dubai, Turkey and Greece with two of my best girlfriends. I had only been dating Jarrod a few months at the time, but I mentioned to him that Santorini was the most romantic and beautiful place I'd ever been and would be perfect for a destination wedding.

Here I am in Fira during my 2013 trip.

Jarrod and I both love to travel--see proof here and here. Within a few days of him proposing in December, we decided that it was just more "us" to do an intimate destination wedding in lieu of a traditional big shindig. By mid-January, our flights to Greece were booked and we were all but packed and counting down to June!

The 10-hour flight flew by because I don't think I've ever been so excited.

After landing in Athens, we freshened up and hit the ground running to chase the last few hours of daylight.

We walked through the Plaka and caught stunning views of the Acropolis at sunset. Then we camped out at the must-visit Grand Bretagne Roof Garden for nightcaps.

*I'm dressed super casual in our Novel Tee and Caroline looks adorable in our Casablanca Dress (it's perfect for preggos too!).

The next day (our only full day in Athens) we awoke ready to do some serious sightseeing! On the agenda: the Acropolis and the waterfront! Acropolis literally means city on a hill, so as you can imagine the view from up there was pretty incredible.

My maxi skirt is coming soon to the website. It was SO comfortable! I ended up knotting it up at the bottom because it was HOT.

Caroline and Ryan in front of the Parthenon. Caroline's t-shirt dress is also coming soon to the site so be on the lookout! It's perfect for casual summer travel.

We made our way to the waterfront for lunch by the water. Totally different than the historic ruins but equally beautiful.

Be prepared to log some serious miles in Athens--we probably walked 7 or 8 in this one day. After we'd gotten our fill of exploration, we settled on another rooftop restaurant for a group dinner. The weather, ambiance and view were the perfect way to cap off our time in Europe's oldest city.

So obsessed with this adorable shift dress--be on the lookout for it in the next week in stores and online!

On Monday morning, we woke up and headed straight to the airport for a quick (only 30 mins!) flight to heaven on earth--Santorini!

Our day pretty much consisted of eating gyros and admiring the breathtaking view.

Tuesday was a full day of yachting. We rented a catamaran for our wedding party and spent the entire day sailing the Aegean Sea. To say it was glorious would be a serious understatement. If you're headed to the Greek Isles, you MUST do a boat tour. The water is as blue as I've ever seen and the views from the open sea are absolutely ridiculous.

Tuesday night was our rehearsal dinner and we had a littleee surprised planned for the guests...we revealed that our baby (due Oct. 27th) is a little BOY!

The Casablanca Maxi was PERFECT for the gender reveal. We're sold out online but it's still available in stores.

The grandparents were so thrilled and excited!

So were the aunts!

Wednesday was wedding day! Jarrod and I walked the footpath from our little village of Imerovigli to Fira that morning for some alone time. Pictures just don't even do the sites along the path justice. It was a relaxing and beautiful day.

At 7 p.m. our ceremony started and it was everything I dreamed up and more. Following the ceremony, we had dinner on the rooftop terrace of our hotel. The course after course of Greek cuisine lasted until midnight and we were so full that we couldn't even touch our wedding cake, so we saved that for the next night 🙂

Caroline wore our My Fair Lacy Maxi and looked stunning. My dress is by Lovers & Friends LA.

This is my favorite shot of the night, taken by our wonderful +talented photographer and good friend, Jim Trice. I am DYING to see the rest.

We woke up Thursday morning Married AF. PRAISE!

We spent the rest of the day on the black sand beach.

We also parasailed! So much fun!

That night, our final one in paradise, we decided to break off from the group and have a little married date night. It was a perfect ending to the most glorious trip.

The Dolly Dress was great for the breezy island night.

Thanks for reading about my dream wedding week, and to all who sent me well wishes and left sweet comments via email, text or on instagram, YOU MADE IT EVEN BETTER! I LOVE OUR SHOPPERS TURNED FRIENDS! OPA!!!
