My Secret Apple Martini Recipe

Okay ladies... fair warning: this drink is not for the faint of heart (a.k.a. lightweights). I know, I know. You're thinking an apple martini is about the most basic "girlie" drink out there. And for the most part, you'd be right.

However, this is my personal spin on a classic recipe and I've converted even those who don't like apple martinis. But the warning here is: there are no mixers... that's right, NONE. But you won't be able to tell (really) so proceed with caution, you've been warned. čśë

  • 1 oz. Vodka
  • 1/2 oz. Apple Schnapps
  • 3 oz. Green Apple Wine
  • Green Apple Slices (optional)

A quick note about the ingredients. Personally I recommend you don't cheap out on the vodka. I have used Smirnoff and it was fine but I think it tastes better with Absolut or your favorite organic vodka. Second, you're thinking where the heck do I get Green Apple Wine? Not to be confused with just any old apple wine.

Some recommendations: Check out a local winery. The smaller the better. Typically they will have a selection of fruit wine and Green Apple is quite popular. Or check out your local grocery store and cruise the aisle looking specifically for Green Apple. Regular Apple wine is NOT a good alternate. My local fave: Iron Gate Green Apple (they ship!) If you're desperate, try Verdi Green Apple Sparkletini available in most super markets. However, stir... don't shake, you'll thank me later.

Put all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a martini glass and serve with a green apple wedge. Enjoy!
