The Perfect Summer Margarita Recipe

You know when you go to a bar and the bartender asks you, what's your poison? In a split second, you have to tell him the drink you know you're gonna like regardless of what the specials might be. Well, mine is the margarita.

And so I've got a margarita for every season, as though the classic isn't enough 😉

When I think of summer, I think of watermelon. It was just a hop, skip and a jump before that made it's way into a margarita recipe. And luckily this one is a lot simpler than you might think. It has just 4 ingredients: Watermelon, Margarita Mix, Tequila and Triple Sec. So on to the good stuff.

  • 2 oz. Watermelon Juice {recipe follows}
  • 2 oz. Margarita Mix
  • 1 oz. Tequila
  • 1/2 oz. Triple Sec

  1. Cube watermelon from rind saving a small slice for garnish.
  2. Place watermelon cubes in blender and blend until smooth.
  3. Strain watermelon puree to remove pulp.
  4. Add all ingredients to cup with ice. Stir/shake until blended and pour into glass and serve immediately. Garnish with reserved watermelon slice.

If you want to add some drama to the cocktail, rim your glass with sugar and salt. It's especially dramatic if you throw in some black sesame seeds.
