My Go-To Easter Cocktail

When you think of Easter, you probably think church, family, Easter eggs, Easter egg hunts and candy. While Peeps have long been the tell-tale sign that Easter is around the corner... I say opt for another way to cheat on your calorie intake.

When I was younger, I was all about Peeps and tart candy like sweetarts and nerds. Now that I'm older I opt for chocolate, more specifically dark chocolate. I even try and convince myself that if I swap wine or cocktails in lieu of chocolate then it's not THAT bad. I suspect I'm not the only one. 😉

Even better when you can have a chocolate martini and that is exactly the Easter treat I plan to indulge in this year. So I figured I'd share my favorite choco-tini recipe for the chocolate lovers out there like me.

INGREDIENTS
- 2.5oz Half n' Half {opt for fat-free for calorie savings or even better, almond milk}
- 1.5oz Godiva Chocolate Liqueur
- 1.5oz Creme de Cacao Liqueur
- 0.5oz Vanilla Vodka {opt for regular organic vodka for less sweet or less calories}
- Chocolate Syrup or Cocoa Powder for garnish

DIRECTIONS
First rim your glass. You can put chocolate syrup on a plate and spin the rim of the glass around to coat or just swirl it in your glass. I think syrup is messy so I opt for powder. To do this, put some agave nectar or simple syrup in a plate and spin your rim to coat. Then in another plate, add the cocoa powder and repeat spinning the rim to coat.

Next, fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Put all other ingredients in the shaker and shake vigorously until well blended. Strain into prepped glass and serve.
