my favorite sweater (+my brother’s grad)

It has been a while since I've posted and I've truly missed it!
I had a busy weekend smack dab in the middle of busy season so at least I've got an excuse.
I'll tersely sum up the last few days for you...My brother turned 23(!!) I've got a new favorite sweater(!!!), my brother is officially a college grad(!!!!) and Lauren spent the weekend with me(!!!!). You can stop reading there unless you're a sucker for details.
My weekend officially kicked off on Thursday when my wild and crazy brother turned 23. Just typing that makes me feel ancient. I can remember the day he was born like it was yesterday. I was a five year old little diva. My mom started having contractions after dinner on Dec. 12, 1990 and instead of having my dad rush her to the hospital like most normal women in labor, she proceeded to have my dad and I casually run to the mall.  She didn't feel like she had a cute enough nightgown to wear after Matt's birth. I kid you not. Dad and I ventured out to Sears and I went through every nightgown in the store to find the perfect one for my mama while my dad paced and tried to rush me along. Flash forward a few short hours--by the time she got to the hospital the doctors didn't even have time to give her an epidural--and I had a little brother. He was the most beautiful baby ever and I'm not just saying that. We celebrated Matt on Thursday night by heading out to sushi downtown and toasting Japanese LITs in his honor.
Friday, Lauren and Chad came to visit! They got in late so I had plenty of time to change clothes 8,000 times before dinner and that's where I discovered my new favorite sweater. Unfortunately, the only picture I got that evening was this little gem, but don't worry, that's not the last you'll see of the sweater.
Saturday morning I got up early and headed down to Greenville, NC to watch my brother graduate from East Carolina with a business management degree. What a fabulous day it was! There are no other people in the world I'd rather spend my time with than my little family and we had the best day being together and celebrating Matt.
Not sure if you can tell here, but there's that sweater again. What can I say? Told ya, it was my fave.
Last night, we met Lauren and Chad out in Chapel Hill and we all pretended we were 21 again. Good times were had by all. Scratch that, GREAT times were had by all.
Recognize my top?! 😉

Hope you all had a blog-worthy weekend too! Remember, there are only 10 more shopping days until Christmas. If you've got a picky lady on your list, I know a sweater she might like: Indian Outlaw ($42).
