I spent this past weekend in the mountains with my best friends. We’ve known each other since elementary school. Yep, you read that right…we’ve been friends for nearly 2 decades. Just typing that makes me feel ancient. These girls are the friends you can call no matter how late, how much time has passed or how insignificant (or significant, for that matter) the problem.
Even though we see each other as often as possible (I spent last weekend in Atlanta with Mary and Wednesday night wining and dining with 3 of them), too much time had passed since we’d ALL been in the same place at the same time. So as you can imagine, my abs are still sore from the laughter and silliness that went down in that cabin. Here’s a glimpse into my idea of a perfect weekend.
Stone Mountain Summit
The Vestique T’s made us look like a cult of sorts but were a great conversation starter as we hiked the mountain. My girls are shameless promoters!
After our hike, we stopped for lunch in Elkin, NC, changed clothes and headed to Shelton Winery.
Shelton Vineyards Fall Festival
I could probably drink all the barrels of the Harvest Red…it was that good!
We took an afternoon hayride through the vineyard. The weather and views were breathtaking but the company was unparalleled.
No visit to a winery is complete without a tasting.
We stopped in downtown Sparta on our way out of town on Sunday to peruse the general store. I saw this sign in the window and couldn’t help but think how fitting.
Just what the doctor ordered! I’m already ready to start planning our next adventure.
Hope your weekend was just as picture perf!
