November 1st marks the start of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.
Pancreatic Cancer is the fourth most common cause of cancer death in the world. It’s a difficult disease to detect and survival rates are low.
One of our best friends, Erin, lost her father to this wretched disease on January 11, 2009. Since that day, we’ve made it our mission to raise awareness about Pancreatic Cancer.
Many of our friends ran in the Kona Half Marathon in 2009 in honor of Ted. To get them there, we raised over $35,000 for PANCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network) through various events.

We’ve continued fighting by supporting North Carolina’s PANCAN chapter in local events too. Last year, we gathered a huge group to run the Purple Stride 5K in Raleigh.
And we haven’t stopped there.
This year, in honor of Ted Anderson and all those families affected by Pancreatic Cancer including two of our very own, Meg Trollan, whose grandfather was diagnosed with the devastating disease last year and Caroline’s family friend, Jamie Ledbetter, who lost his fight in April, vestique will make a donation to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network for every purple item purchased during the month of November.
So go on and get your purple on!
