In May of this year I walked down the aisle in one of the prettiest dresses I’ve ever seen (in my opinion). The moment I put on my wedding gown, in a quaint little bridal shop in Old Town Alexandria, VA, I felt like a princess…like the prettiest girl in the world, despite no make up and just having been in the car for 4 hours. My friend Jenny had met my mom and I at the store and she came in the dressing room with me to help get the dress all zipped up. When Jenny dramatically pulled back the curtain and revealed me in “the dress,” my mom immediately burst into tears. She knew, just like I had a minute before, that this would be the dress her little girl would wear on one of the most important days of her life. I tried on a few others just to appease the bridal consultant who swore I would regret it if I didn’t. But my mind and heart were set…on the lacy one with the dainty cap sleeves that was as timeless and beautiful a dress as I’d ever imagined. I had begun daydreaming about that dress weeks before when I found it online and had carried the picture with me in my bridal book until we found a weekend to make the trek to NOVA, to the one bridal shop on the east coast that carried the dress. I guess you could say I am the ultimate online shopper!
Just the other day we got this dress in. I loved it the very moment I laid eyes on it on one of our designer’s websites and knew we had to add it to our repertoire. I told Nick that I wished we could get married again just so I could wear this to our couple’s shower, my bridesmaids luncheon or our rehearsal dinner. It’s perfectly perfect and is begging to be worn by a beautiful bride…glowing with excitement, nerves, happiness and most of all, love.
